Breeding policy
breed only when I wish to have a puppy myself and always with very careful planning. My dogs are all UK Kennel Club (KC) registered and are hip scored and eye tested (clear) in accordance with the Kennel Club/British Veterinary Association Schemes – before being bred from as well as being DNA profiled and health checked.
My aim when I breed is always to adhere as closely to the Alaskan Malamute Breed Standard as possible. I believe this means striving to produce healthy happy Malamutes with excellent confirmation, movement, temperament and breed type that can perform the functions they were originally bred for. I am a long standing member of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK (AMCUK) and I am featured on their breeders list which means I strictly adhere to the AMCUK Code of Ethics.
All my puppies are very special to me and any puppy who leaves me will have a contract which includes "Progeny not eligible for registration" and "Not eligible for issue of export pedigree" to protect them and the future of the breed. All puppies will be fully inoculated, microchipped, wormed and KC registered.
All pet puppies will have neutered contracts, WITHOUT EXCEPTION and I will offer a small refund once the puppy has been neutered by 18 months of age (copy of a vets certificate is required) and on no account will the "Progeny not eligible for registration" endorsement be lifted on pet dogs regardless of ANY circumstances.
Show prospect puppies are just that, I do not guarantee that such puppies will be world beaters, however I would never encourage any of my puppies to be shown that do not meet the breed standards. I would not want to taint all the hard work and reputation of myself as well as my foundation dogs breeders with sub standard dogs in the ring.
I want lifetime homes for my puppies and in turn I will provide you with lifetime support. I also ask that should the new owner, for whatever reason, no longer be able to care for the dog that they ensure it is returned to me.
I will keep all puppies until they are at least 10 to 11 weeks old which will give me a better opportunity to assess them and their personalities enabling me to match the ones leaving to their most suitable new owners. They will learn the correct social behaviour from myself as well as their Mum and other members of the pack during this critical mental growth and development period.
I am very selective about where my puppies go and all potential owners are vetted by me before being accepted onto my waiting list. If you are interested in one of my puppies please fill in the puppy form describing yourself, work and home arrangements and your lifestyle. I will then invite you to visit me and meet my dogs and if you and I are both happy then you will be accepted onto my waiting list.
